Happy Mothers Day

Mothers Day

My mom is a hard-working lady. She has black hair and brown eyes. When she walk she keeps her shoulders straight and has different shoes for everything. She’s not tall but isn’t short either. My mom is very lively and a big smile. She a kind and caring personality, and always know show to help.

When I have a problem she usually knows how to talk to me. She’s honest and very patient. My Mom is a very loving person.

And there are many things she likes to do and dislikes to do. She hates to go outside before it gets cooler. But on a nice cool day she loves walking with stroller. My mom just loves cleaning around the house and preparing special meals.

She is also very talented lady. Whenever I start an argument, my mom can finish it, and Whenever Hasan (my baby brother) knows when what he wants (and luckily knows when to change him). One thing she loves to do is cook. The things my mom makes that I like best are her homemade apple pie and baked chicken. .

I know my mom loves me when she takes care of me when I’m sick.

Don't stop reading until you get to the 10th commandment.

Don't stop reading until you get to the 10th commandment.

Commandment 1: Marriages are made in heaven. But so again, are thunder and lightning.

Commandment 2: If you want your wife to listen and pay strict attention to every word you say, talk in your sleep.

Commandment 3: Marriage is grand -- and divorce is at least 100 grand!

Commandment 4: Married life is very frustrating. In the first year of marriage, the man speaks and the woman listens. In the second year, the woman speaks and the man listens. In the third year, they both speak and the neighbours listen.

Commandment 5: When a man opens the door of his car for his wife, you can be sure of one thing: Either the car is new or the wife is.

Commandment 6: Marriage is when a man and woman become as one; The trouble starts when they try to decide which one.

Commandment 7: Before marriage, a man will lie awake all night thinking about something you say. After marriage, he will fall asleep before you finish.

Commandment 8: Every man wants a wife who is beautiful, understanding, economical, and a good cook. But the law allows only one wife.

Commandment 9. Marriage and love are purely matter of chemistry. That is why the wife treats the husband like toxic waste.

Commandment 10: A man is incomplete until he is married. After that, he is finished.

Bonus Commandment story: A long married couple came upon a wishing well. The wife leaned over, made a wish and threw in a penny. The husband decided to make a wish too. But he leaned over too much, fell into the well, and drowned. The wife was stunned for a moment but then smiled, "Wow! This stuff really Works!"

Muslim

A Muslim (Arabic: مسلم) is an adherent of the religion of Islam. The feminine form of Muslim is Muslimah (Arabic: مسلمة). Literally, the word means "one who submits to God".

Muslims believe that there is only one God, translated in Arabic as Allah. Muslims believe that Islam existed long before Muhammad and that the religion has evolved with time. The Qur'an describes as Muslims many Biblical prophets and messengers: Adam, Noah (Arabic: Nuh), Moses (Arabic: Musa) and Jesus (Arabic: Isa) and his apostles. The Qur'an states that these men were Muslims because they submitted to God, preached his message and upheld his values. Thus, in Surah 3:52 of the Qur'an, Jesus’ disciples tell Jesus: "do thou bear witness that we are Muslims". Muslims pray five times a day. These five prayers are known as Fajr , Zuhr , Asr , Maghri , Isha. There is also a special Friday prayer called Jumma.

Most Muslims accept as a Muslim anyone who has publicly pronounced the Shahada, which states, "There is none worthy of worship except God, and Muhammad is His Messenger." This is often translated as, "There is no God except Allah", however "Allah" is the Arabic word for "the God". Currently, there are an estimated 1.4 billion Muslims, making it the second largest religion in the world.[1]

Tablets of stone

The Tablets of Stone or Stone Tablets, also known as the Tablets of Law, (in Hebrew: Luchot HaBrit - "the tablets [of] the covenant") were the two pieces of special stone inscribed with the Ten Commandments when Moses ascended Mount Sinai as recorded in the Book of Exodus. Exodus 31:18 refers to the tablets as the Tablets of Testimony because they give insight into the nature of God, and they have also been known as the Tables of Law.

According to traditional teachings of Judaism in the Talmud, they were made of blue-sapphire stone as a symbolic reminder of the sky, the heavens, and ultimately of God's throne. There were two sets: the first was inscribed by God himself, and which were smashed by Moses when he was enraged by the sight of the Children of Israel worshiping the Golden Calf and the second set inscribed by Moses which he carved out later, as commanded by God, as an atonement. Both the first shattered set and the second unbroken set were stored in the Ark
of the Covenant (the aron habrit in Hebrew
).

Stroke

Dr. Abid Khan had an acute myocardial infarction due to acute occlusion of main left coronary artery. This happened on Friday after Thanksgiving in 2006. Abid was mowing his lawn when he experienced this chest pain. Main left coronary artery occlusion, also known as "the widow maker" in the medical world is usually a fatal event. 911 was called and Abid was taken to St. Mary's Hospital in Richmond, VA . This is the same hospital at which Dr. Abid Khan worked as a physician at that time.

Abid was 46 at the time. On arrival at the hospital, he went into cardiac arrest and CPR was performed. An emergency angioplasty was tried, which failed. then an emergency cardiac bypass grafting was done . In spite of the CABG (cardiac bypass), his heart did not pulsate (left ventricle did not function). He was on life support (biventricular device, ventilator) for almost 2 weeks. During these two weeks, several echocardiograms showed no activity of the left ventricle. Cardiac transplant was being planned; however Abid was not in a stable enough condition for a transplant at that time. He was moved to another hospital where the cardiac surgeon decided to remove his heart and put an artificial heart until he is stable enough for a heart transplant. During all this time, Abid was in a coma. When Abid was taken into the ER, and his chest was opened, the biventricular device was removed, miraculously his heart started working. The artificial heart implant was not done and he was brought back to the intensive care unit, with his own heart functioning. He was in drug induced coma for over 2 months, during which he had 4-5 open heart surgeries.

During this period he had suffered from multiple pulmonary emboli, deep venous thrombosis, and worst of all strokes on both right and left cerebral hemispheres. He had tracheotomy to wean him off the respirator. The stroke caused right side weakness and aphasia. When he finally came out of coma, he could speak, however he had a great difficulty expressing himself in spoken and written language. When he came out of coma, he could not believe that it was 2007 and that it has been almost 3 months since he recalls anything. He went through intensive rehabilitation therapy. Abid is very courageous, determined, and intelligent. He always had a superior intelligence. We used to call him a genius. His right side weakness is almost completely better. His language is better however it is still very difficult for him to express himself.

He has the right words in his head, but when he tries to say them, different words come out. The same goes for writing. Abid believes in himself and he did not let all this bring him down. He is not a quitter. He is not giving up and I see an improvement in him everyday. Abid has a very strong will power. I believe that his will power had a lot to do with his miraculous recovery.

Abid talks about his near death experience and says that all that time during coma, was like a pleasant dream. He recalls being by a beautiful lake and says that it was all pleasant and happy experience. Abid is very positive and is trying hard to help himself recover. He reads books, talks to friends, writes bogs, and spends a lot of time with the computer, doing different things. Abid has a passion for technology, horoscopes, religion, and spirituality. Abid has a lot of insight about life and people. Abid calls this event in his life as death and rebirth. He always refers to his miraculous survival as rebirth and says that he died and was given a new life.
